Samsung PN58A650 Reviews, Compare & Best Prices

The Samsung 58A550 plasma and the 58a650 are quite similar, with the PN58A650 being slightly more popular for those looking for the very best performing and top of the line television, and the A550 skipping some of the high end features of the A650 model to appeal more to those that want a still strong performning 58” plasma.

Differences to compare PN58A650 vs PN58A550:

An extra HDMI port, and DNIe improvements, which make for a much more realistic picture, reducing false contours delivering more clear images without the visible appearance of some countour lines found on the cheaper models. Minor differences to consider when comparing the 58A550 vs 58A650 include the 650 having Ultra filterbright technology; further reducing glare from environmental light over the cheaper model, the 650 has a wheel key remote, and a 50% increase in audio output power. Another expensive difference is the interactive connectivity of the 6 series plasma, being able to connect to the internet and pull info such as weather, news, etc… from rss feeds online. Also the PN58A650 contains infolink functionality and connectivity whereas the 5 series plasma does not.

Review of PN58A650 Plasma HDTV by P. Mcneil

Review of Samsung PN58A650 TV Just got the Samsung PN58A650 barely hooked up beside my old Sony Bravia and left the PS3 on the old television and the Blu-Ray player on the new Sammy Plasma to do a little side by side picture comparison. I’ll tell you what; you can tell in about 1 second which is the newer and more advanced television, making the old Sony look like trash despite the fact that brand new a little while ago I paid more for it then the PN58A650 (hefty itself at over $3000)

Heck you don’t even have to turn them on to know which one is probably better, the Samsung PN58A650’s design is simply stunning even before it is turned on to showcase all its glory, the 6 added inches the 58-inch screen gives over the old 52inch hdtv is also a much more dramatic difference then I really thought it would be, a nice little perk considering I just wanted a top tier TV at a decent cost range.

Anyways I haven’t really got into using it to much, just watching a Blu-Ray so far while the son looked up all the best calibration setting online and I told him to move over when he came across this site so I could leave my own first reaction and review of samsungs PN58A650 TV, I’ll get more into it with settings, sound and video performance in a follow up review after I have had a chance to play with this new sexy box a little bit more!

Cheers!
Pete.

Review of Samsung PN58A650 Plasma HDTV by J. Smith:

Review of Samsung PN58A650 TV We were in the market for a very large and high end display after finishing paying off our mortgage and deciding to spend the extra money on refurnishing and redesigning our home. I spent countless hours on reading really nerdy discussions and reviews on the highest end plasma panels, and was leaning towards the $5000+ Kuro Elite panels and similar higher end displays before stumbling across some discussions and debates amongst very enthusiastic ‘experts’

There was a hell of a lot of information and good things being said about the much cheaper Samsung PN58A650 series 6 plasma panel, and after taking part in the discussion, reading some previews / reviews from tech websites and gathering as much information as I could about the series 6 Samsung PN58A650 Plasma TV, I saw an opportunity to save $2000-3000 and get a high end sound system for free essentially at little to no picture quality sacrifice.

Ordered this along with a kicking sound system / receiver / Blu-ray / cables / accessories for a lot cheaper price then the super duper nerd plasmas would cost (and the say the >PN-58A650 has comparable quality anyhow) and even save a crap load more money by ordering online (best buy offers stupid high prices folks – check amazon.com for best prices) and couldn’t be happier! It’s huge, it’s beautiful, and it’s stunning in almost every single way. Our entertainment center is all hooked up now in space age fashion and the visitors are all commenting about how amazing the setup looks and feels.

Samsung’s PN58A650 Review from C. Hill:

Review of Samsung PN58A650 TV Just got my Samsung PN58A650 Plasma on Monday after waiting for delivery very anxiously for about 4 days. There was a lot of buzz and high expectations set through various other PN58A650 reviews, reports and discussions I found on the internet that ultimately led me to purchase this big ticket television, and as I sat waiting for delivery I started to get nervous that this $3000+ plasma HDTV wouldn’t live up to all the hype that reading those reviews and previews gave me.

Once the Samsung PN58A650t arrived at my door, I really started to get anxious, I signed for it and got it into the living room and started the unboxing process biting my lip in both excitement and nervousness that it wouldn’t be as revolutionary a change over my old 720p 46” television I had just moved to my bedroom. I set up the home theater, game consoles, speakers and everything else before turning it on, then I set up all the various menus, made sure the PS3 was in 1080p mode, and fired it up to see just how good this thing would be. The game started up (GTA4) and I waited for the loading times impatiently… and then… I saw the game in its full high definition glory and I finally saw the difference the PN58A650 Plasma was going to make, in clarity, size, and color and picture perfect greatness. It looked huge compared to the old 46-inch television and the visual quality simply made the other HDTV look obsolete compared.

Samsung PN-58A650 58inch TV Reviewed by G. Walters:

Review of Samsung PN58A650 TV Can’t say enough great things about the Samsung PN 58A650 or any of the recent series 5-6-7 Samsung LCDs and Plasmas for that matter. This is an electronics company that has really come from out of nowhere over the last 4-5 years to making simply the best priced and top performing products on the market. I work at a fairly large consumer electronics store in a mediocre sized city here in Canada, and I have spent tons of hours checking out the differences and admiring the various picture sizes and qualities on all the latest in LCD and Plasma High Def televisions, and nothing really even comes close to being as sleek and sexy as the Samsung PN-58A650 t model besides maybe the other Samsung really; it’s as if they are just much further ahead of the times then the other brands and somehow still haven’t got greedy and keep their prices lower than the rest (major move by Samsung, adoption rates on HDTVs and brand loyalty is huge already over the last couple of years)

Samsung PN58A650 58″ Plasma Review by T. Dalke:

Review of Samsung PN58A650 TV I’m quite the techy nerd so I did spend a ton of time researching and reading Samsung PN58A650 Reviews and material before deciding that it was actually a pretty sound and good purchase. I had looked at a few other brands but they just couldn’t seem to match the quality that Samsungs Series 6 plasmas offered for the price, making them easily the best deals out of the available high end plasma HDTVs on the market.

I Have previously owned a Samsung FPT5084 plasma TV so I had a great and highly reviewed television to benchmark my new PN58A650 TV against, so if the rest of my Samsung PN58A650 review sound like I’m comparing it to something, it’s the previous generation FPT5084 plasma unit.

Picture Quality, Contrast, Color and Black Level:

After I had spent some time playing with and calibrating the PN58A650’s setting to match my desired levels and match my room’s lighting and such, it was off to the races with this awesome TV. Factory settings were pretty decent for you average type of living room like I guess mine could be… but you really can get a much nicer looking picture if your look up some settings and calibrate all the various options and available setting to match your room.

Picture quality is a perfect 10 out of 10 after said tweaks and adjustments, and really just blows all other 1080P full HD sources I have ever seen, and definitely a major MAJOR difference is easily noticeable over the year younger sibling to the PN-58A650. Contrast is amazing, Color is deep and vivid and really beautiful, and Black levels will blow any techie or previous plasma owner away with an easy to spot difference… although you might not be able to truly appreciate the sheer picture difference if the this series 6 plasma is your first foray into true high definition and if you still blown away by the sheer size of a 58 inch TV.
